Proper criteria for changing conventional transmission fluid to AMSOIL

2. The first thing I suggest is that you clean your transmission … internally. Here’s how: Obtain a bottle of AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush (FLSHCN). Follow the easy instructions on the bottle. (For automatic transmissions)

NOT recommended for CVT transmissions or differentials.
If you do not have the proper equipment and know-how hire a full service garage to change your transmission fluid.
Engage the emergency brake.
Add the entire bottle of cleaner to the transmission oil fill port.
Idle 10 – 15 minutes; shift through drive and reverse. Do NOT place vehicle under heavy load.
Drain entire transmission and torque converter of fluid.
Transmission Filter MUST BE CHANGED (magnets must be cleaned off) before installing with new AMSOIL transmission fluid.
After fill is complete check transmission fluid level.

An automatic transmission is a sealed system, if you have to add transmission fluid your system needs to be checked for system integrity (leaks).
