2. The first thing I suggest is that you clean your transmission … internally. Here’s how: Obtain a bottle of AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush (FLSHCN). Follow the easy instructions on the bottle. (For automatic transmissions)
- NOT recommended for CVT transmissions or differentials.
- If you do not have the proper equipment and know-how hire a full service garage to change your transmission fluid.
- Engage the emergency brake.
- Add the entire bottle of cleaner to the transmission oil fill port.
- Idle 10 – 15 minutes; shift through drive and reverse. Do NOT place vehicle under heavy load.
- Drain entire transmission and torque converter of fluid.
- Transmission Filter MUST BE CHANGED (magnets must be cleaned off) before installing with new AMSOIL transmission fluid.
- After fill is complete check transmission fluid level.
An automatic transmission is a sealed system, if you have to add transmission fluid your system needs to be checked for system integrity (leaks).
